SAE-specifikationen \u00e4r dock vanligtvis tydligt angiven. En SAE-beteckning som 10W-40 visar en multigradoljas fl\u00f6desegenskaper vid l\u00e5ga respektive h\u00f6ga temperaturer. De flesta bil\u00e4gare k\u00e4nner till denna klassificering.<\/p>\n<p>Men beteckningar som ACEA C3 eller API SN\/CF \u00e4r ofta sv\u00e5rare att tolka, \u00e4ven f\u00f6r erfarna bilf\u00f6rare. API och ACEA \u00e4r organisationer som fastst\u00e4ller standarder f\u00f6r motoroljor. API st\u00e5r f\u00f6r American Petroleum Institute, den amerikanska branschorganisationen f\u00f6r oljeindustrin, medan ACEA representerar de europeiska biltillverkarna.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 l\u00e5ngt \u00e4r allt ganska enkelt. Motoroljor f\u00f6r bensinmotorer har bokstaven S efter f\u00f6rkortningen API, d\u00e4r S st\u00e5r f\u00f6r &#8221;Spark&#8221; (t\u00e4ndgnista). F\u00f6r dieselmotorer anv\u00e4nds bokstaven C. Efter S eller C f\u00f6ljer ytterligare en bokstav som anger oljans prestandaniv\u00e5. Ju l\u00e4ngre fram i alfabetet bokstaven ligger, desto h\u00f6gre \u00e4r oljans kvalitet och prestanda.<\/p>\n<h2>ACEA-klassificeringen<\/h2>\n<p>I ACEA-klassificeringen finns fyra huvudkategorier av motoroljor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A \u2013 Motorolja f\u00f6r bensinmotorer<\/li>\n<li>B \u2013 Motorolja f\u00f6r dieselmotorer utan avgasefterbehandling<\/li>\n<li>C \u2013 Motorolja f\u00f6r bensin- och dieselmotorer med katalysator och partikelfilter<\/li>\n<li>E \u2013 Motorolja f\u00f6r dieselmotorer i tunga fordon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>F\u00f6r bensinmotorer inom klass A finns f\u00f6ljande kategorier:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 \u2013 Br\u00e4nslebesparande oljor<\/li>\n<li>2 \u2013 Standardoljor<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 \u2013 H\u00f6gpresterande oljor<\/li>\n<li>5 \u2013 H\u00f6gpresterande oljor med
